We all know that modeling upfront is all about the glitz and the glamour. Haute couture, fashion, everything is flawless and perfect. But do the models who quit the career seem to think so?
Watch this video to find out about a model’s story:
The sad truth about modeling is that everyone knows how bad the situation is. Everyone is aware that the casting agencies and the people who hire and pay for the models themselves need the models to be in their best body shape. But at what cost?
For the models, if they gain a kilo or add an inch on their measurements, they’re going to get tossed out of the game.
There are so many girls out there vying for a spot in Fashion Week, or for a print ad or TV commercial, so if you don’t fit a criteria, you’re out. It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there, and only the tough ones survive.
Just like what the former model in the video said, she’s always tired and exhausted. Running around in NYC for castings, forgetting to eat and sleep. When told that she needs to lose an inch from her waistline, she does everything it takes. EVERYTHING. Even if it makes her unhealthy. Why? Because she loved success. She loved every single moment of it.
But was she happy?
She suffered and this is why she has changed her lifestyle to a healthier one. She’s become vegan, and she’s enjoying the easy breezy life in Thailand (she’s from Australia and modeled in America and Europe).
Did she say that it’s all worth it? No, it isn’t. Would she want to come back to modeling someday? Definitely. But will she do the same things that she did before? Definitely not.
