On our off duty as a model, we try to put fewer products on our face to rest our skin. However, even if we like going au naturel with our looks, we want to look fabulous even when we’re not on the runways or shoots. Below are the things that are model-approved and definitely a must-have.
Bronzer
Not only does bronzer put back the color in our faces, it gives off that sun-kissed vibe that we all love. Since we are likely to skip contouring when we just want to take a walk or go out with our friends during the day, this is the best alternative! Not only that, but it’s also a breeze to put since you just need a big powder brush to dust it on your face. Just make sure that you’re not using a bronzer that has chunks of glitter in it because it could accentuate your pores.
Tinted Moisturizer
I love lightweight moisturizers that have a tinge of coverage in them. They’re multi-taskers and everyone loves those! It’s like skincare and makeup all in one. (It’s also a lot like your skin, but better!) I do try to find one that has SPF in them but it’s not good to rely on your makeup for sun protection. I just feel like I’m protected enough that way.
Lipstick or Lip Tint
If I were to choose which product I can’t live without, it’s probably this. I could always fake looking well-done just by swiping color against my lips. I’ve tried going out with just tinted moisturizer and it wasn’t enough. However, a bright colored lipstick or lip tint could always make you look fresh even without all the products listed here. With lip tints, you could also swipe them across your cheeks for a more flushed look!
Mascara
This can’t stand alone, but it’s never a waste of time to put mascara on just to bring a little attention to your eyes. If you’re feeling a little extra, this is a good addition to your off-duty look.
Highlighter
I’ve talked to a couple of model friends and got this as an answer. If I were to put a highlighter on my face on off duty, I should have just done a full-face makeup. But in all honesty, if you’re using a highlighter that looks very natural and not so flashy, I do think it makes a lot of difference. You can also skip the bronzer if you want to use this.
Skin Care
This isn’t exactly on the makeup side, but it’s very important for us models to take care of our skin. Our best friends are face masks, moisturizers, and lip balms. It’s a very basic thing that you need to have on your daily routine and it makes a lot of difference on how your skin looks on-cam and off-cam. Always remember, you can’t always cover everything up with makeup. A good skin care routine can even minimize the need for makeup. Isn’t that awesome?
