Whether we like it or not, models need to stay camera ready all the time. Talking about “model diets” can be a very sensitive topic, especially now that the modeling industry is branded as the culprit of insane beauty standards. Not only that, but there are tons of fitness fads out there that claim to be the “actual model diet” and it can be quite misleading.
A model diet can mean different techniques and results will vary from one person to another. It’s not a single recipe of what you’re supposed to eat and what you’re not supposed to eat. For me, it’s a multitude of approaches that help you stay fit and healthy in an industry that demands its models to be “camera ready”.
Stella Maxwell
Victoria’s Secret model Stella Maxwell believes it’s unhealthy to go on crazy fad diets. Instead, what she does is to eat in moderation and makes sure that her portions are in control. For her breakfast, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, avocado, granola or yogurt is her favorite thing. For lunch, she enjoys salmon with a salad on the side. For snacks, nuts and dried peas are her go-to.
Gisele Bündchen
Gisele has a plant-based organic regimen since 2016. Her model diet consists of almost 80% vegetables and whole grains of millet, quinoa, and beans. It’s also balanced by lean meats like grass-fed steak, wild salmon and duck. She has quite a list of don’t in her diet and that list includes no white sugar, no white flour, no caffeine, no iodized salt, and no fungus.
Kate Upton
Kate believes in balance. She believes that it’s fine to indulge once in a while but you have to maintain balance. Her diet contains a lot of lean proteins and limits her sugar intake. She once said, “Rather than having wine and doughnuts, you can have wine or doughnuts.”
Martha Hunt
Most of you probably imagined that models starve themselves before a show, but as for Martha Hunt, it’s the opposite. She actually eats more than the usual so she has energy. Martha makes sure that she has protein in one of her meals and sticks to peanut butter or almond butter for snacks.
Lindsay Ellingson
Even Lindsay does not follow fitness fads or a specific diet. As long as she focuses on eating healthy food like salmon, sweet potatoes, and kale salad. For snacks, she loves chia pods with almond butter.
Bridget Malcolm
Bridget swears by being a vegan. Her meals are free from animal-derived products and is centered around vegetables, fruits, and grains.
As you can see, models stay camera ready by making sure that they provide their bodies with proper nutrition instead of overindulging with unhealthy food. Everyone’s body is different and all you have to do is find the lifestyle that suits your needs and your body requirements.
