We all have our lazy outfit days. I must admit that I’m not always fashionably on fleek, because there are times wherein I feel like I woke up on the wrong side of the bed– or I’m just not in the mood to search my wardrobe for that perfect outfit. However, if you’re a model, you have certain standards that you need to conform in and every time you walk out that door, even if it’s just for coffee or drinks with friends, you have to look your best. Who knows, you might meet a potential client. You could bump into previous workmates and you could be introduced to other people. If luck isn’t on your side, you could be wearing the ugliest mix of clothing and you’ll be doomed.
Because of that, I managed to master the art of looking like I tried dressing up, even if I didn’t! In my wardrobe, I already know the clothes that I need to wear to feel comfortable yet modest looking, even on lazy outfit days. Below, I’ll share with you a couple of my favorites that would surely make dressing up easy and uncomplicated.
Button-ups
Instead of reaching for your old t-shirt, try wearing button-up blouses instead. This is very classic and it offers the comfort of a t-shirt but with an impression of a pulled-together look. For a more fashionable touch, tuck the front of your button-up into your shorts or pants. For a formal more professional look, you can always top it off with a blazer.
Black on Black
Probably my most favorite lazy outfit of all time. It’s an oldie but a goodie– black on black. It’s a very formal color and it creates an impression of sophistication. Just make sure to choose pieces that are unifying in order to create an overall professional and very modern look. Don’t be afraid of mixing leathers, velvet, cotton or even silk.
Bold Lippie
Okay, this isn’t exactly an outfit. But let’s just say that makeup is part of the overall outcome of the outfit. Consider it the final touch and it’s going to wrap it all up in one harmonious look. You don’t exactly have to put on a face full of makeup. I’m sure that during lazy days, you struggle with putting on your makeup too aside from your outfit. The secret here is to use a bold lipstick that will serve as the focal point on your face. People probably won’t notice that you didn’t bother putting on a full coverage foundation, or that you skipped your concealer or bronzer. They will only notice the lipstick that brings that bold color on your face. If you feel like your skin isn’t in the mood either, you might want to avoid nude lipsticks because it can make you look more tired and pale.
Added Elements
By added elements, it means accessories. From oversized sunglasses and big hooped earrings that are bedazzled, you name it, you wear it. Even the simplest of clothes could have an extra oomph if you mix and match all these added elements perfectly. Not to mention, nobody would assume that you were too lazy to dress up if you still managed to whip up some accessories to add style.
There you go! Now you can easily look fashionable without actually trying. Don’t be afraid to mix and match, because that’s how fashion is born!
