At 37, you may think that Casey Legler is a tad bit too old to be a model. When asked what she thinks of her age, she just says she’s humbled by this genetic gift.
So who is Casey Legler?
Yes, Casey is a she. And we all know that androgyny is something that is celebrated and welcomed in the fashion world. She used to be an Olympian swimmer and with a height of 6 feet and 2 inches, this female-wearing-male clothes model is easy to spot.
Casey landed her first gig in 2012 when her photographer friend asked her to pose as a man in a photo shoot. Ford Models immediately contacted her and put her on the male models roster. Next thing we know, she’s taking the runway and print ads by storm, as a male model, that is.
Although Casey Legler isn’t the first androgynous model to come out, she is nevertheless an inspiration. She tells the story of how she got kicked out of the Olympic swimming team and how she feels blessed when a person came to her and told her that she is an inspiration. Watch these in the video below:
