Meet former Victoria’s Secret Angel, Erin Heatherton. Yep, you read that right. This blonde beauty left the coveted Victoria’s Secret Show because she was asked to lose weight.
This was how Erin looked like when she was told that she needed to shed some extra pounds.

Really? This was Erin’s last Victoria’s Secret show in 2013. How in the world would someone think that she needed to lose weight?
Erin in 2016 — she’s gained weight, but is still skinny by 99% of people’s standards!
In her Instagram she posted a strong message of empowerment:
“The breakdown to breakthrough moment in my life has allowed me to become the truest version of myself. In my moment of ‘failure,’ I stood in the face of adversity. I was struggling with my body image and the pressures to fulfill the demands of perfectionism upon me. I am not perfect. Through this struggle, however, I found the strength to love myself. I stood in my power. I thought of one of my favorite quotes, ‘Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a men’s character, give him power’ – Abraham Lincoln. I look back on that moment now, and I embrace it. This feeling I once perceived as ‘failure’ was, in truth, a powerful awakening for me to stand behind my purpose in life. I stepped away from hiding behind a fabricated version of myself. I no longer put actions behind my fears and insecurities. I made a choice to redirect my energy to be a catalyst for change. To create a channel for women to become the truest versions of themselves, along with me. Industry insiders whisper that she was really fired; and that she’s been dieting as much as possible for the past few years but just couldn’t lose the weight, and Victoria’s Secret wouldn’t use her again until she did. Either way, we are all so proud of Erin for putting a positive spin on a bad situation, and learning to put herself, her health and her emotional state first rather than giving into something she knew was wrong.
