In the early 1960s, when Martha Stewart was in college (on full scholarship to Barnard in NYC), she modeled to help her afford living in New York (it’s expensive here!) She initially wanted to study chemistry, but ended up switching to art and architectural history. Her clients included everyone from Unilever to Chanel — amazing, right?
